During the past July two facilities for scrap manipulation have been installed and started up in the most important steel group in Asturias.
Each facility is composed by a rectangular electromagnet of dimensions 2850x950 mm, especially designed for scrap manipulation.
It is completed with a state of the art electric supply and control equipment, also with magnetization current overshoot, thus the load capacity of the magnet is improved.
At the same time, the electric equipment feeds the magnet with constant current, so the same lifting force is achieved during all working hours.
Finally, it also incorporates a continuous control system of all the variables of the facility that allow us to know the levels of surges, overcurrents, magnet temperature etc, to guarantee, at any time, the state and aviability of the installation.
