High-intensity magnetic separators

Felemamg offers advanced magnetic separation solutions with its High Intensity Magnetic Separators, designed for the efficient extraction of magnetic and paramagnetic particles in dry materials. This equipment comes in two specialized versions: the induced rotor electromagnetic separator, ideal for treating materials with very low magnetic susceptibility in demanding processes, and the permanent magnet separator, specially developed to remove weak magnetic impurities in fine-grained products. Both systems guarantee high performance, precision, and reliability in various industrial applications.

Types of equipment

Electromagnetic induced rotor

In the case of the induced rotor electromagnetic separator, it consists of two separation stages. The first stage, or low-intensity module, consists of a low-intensity, high-gradient permanent magnet drum, whose purpose is to prevent ferromagnetic parts from passing to the next separation stage, where they could cause mechanical damage.

The next stage of separation consists of a high-intensity module with several cascaded induced rotors capable of influencing and extracting paramagnetic materials, distributed in one or two parallel lines of one to three rotors each.

It is the most powerful separation equipment, achieving magnetic fields of up to 21,000 Gauss and a high gradient. Under these working conditions, very high attractive forces are produced on paramagnetic materials with very low magnetic susceptibility, such as iron and manganese oxides, hematite, limonite, mica, etc.

Permanent magnet

The second high-intensity, permanent magnet device is designed to extract weakly magnetic material, which is found as an impurity in dry, fine-grained material.

The separator consists of a vibrating feeder that receives the product and distributes it evenly and in a thin layer onto a special antistatic, very thin belt.

The drive roller of this belt consists of an accumulation of rare earth permanent magnets with extremely high magnetic power and high permeability steel magnetic poles.

The result is the creation of a high-intensity, very high-gradient magnetic field capable of attracting very weak magnetic materials such as iron oxides, weakly magnetic powders, and a large amount of paramagnetic materials.

Each material particle size corresponds to optimal pole widths and magnet widths.

When the material transported by the belt reaches the magnetic roller, it is subjected to its field. The magnetic particles are attracted, accompany the roller as it rotates, and fall off below and behind the roller, in a fall that is clearly differentiated from that of the non-magnetic material, which falls freely without being influenced by the magnetic field.
