Non-ferrous metal separators

This magnetic metal separator uses the principle of separation by eddy currents. A magnetic roller made of rare earth magnets, rotating at high speed inside the casing dragged by the conveyor belt, generates a powerful high-frequency alternating magnetic field. This produces two different products at the separator outlet: non-ferrous metals and the rest of the product.

Non-ferrous metals carried by the separator’s conveyor belt are selectively thrown forward by the repulsion between the field created by the electric currents in the metal and the field generated by the roller itself.

Ferrous metals are attracted by the powerful magnetic field, rotate with the roller, and fall with the rest of the product.

Although it separates ferrous material, it is not a ferrous metal separator. This means that no ferrous materials should reach the metal separator. Otherwise, the machine would suffer excessive wear, which could damage the casing and the belt.
