The handling or lifting of metal sheets in industrial environments can be carried out using two types of electromagnetic equipment, specifically designed to adapt to different applications, production needs, and safety levels.

  • Classic rectangular electromagnets, ideal for standard applications with sheets of different thicknesses.
  • Rectangular electropermanent magnets, designed to offer greater safety and energy efficiency in continuous or automated operations.

General characteristics

  • Lead or nickel-cadmium emergency batteries, with the capacity to maintain the load for an average of 20 minutes in the event of a power failure (only for electromagnets).
  • RST transport safety system with 65% pre-implantation.
  • Light and sound signaling systems.
  • Automatic opening and closing of the arms in the case of telescopic beams.
  • Selection system for electromagnets to be energized.
  • Controlled sheet release system (Controlled discharge).
  • Alarm system and permanent monitoring of the status of the electromagnet or electromagnets and batteries, in the case of electromagnets.

Classic rectangular electromagnets for lifting sheet metal

For classic rectangular electromagnets, the weight reduction of the magnets has been taken into account as much as possible, simplifying their construction. These magnets are capable of handling both single sheets and several sheets at once, depending on the thickness of the sheets.

They are available in a wide range of widths and lengths to suit the different dimensions of existing sheets.

Depending on these dimensions, one or more electromagnets mounted on a fixed or telescopic beam will be supplied. The latter can be supplied with electro-hydraulic or mechanical drive with crane trolleys for opening and closing the beam arms.

Rectangular electropermanent magnets for lifting sheet metal

In the case of electro-permanent magnets, they are offered as a maximum industrial safety option, since the holding force is generated exclusively by permanent magnets, without the need for a constant power supply.

A brief pulse of direct current changes the direction of magnetization of the magnets, allowing for two stable and safe states: magnetized and demagnetized, with no power consumption during the holding phase.

Two specialized variants are available: one for sheet-by-sheet handling, ideal for more precise processes, and another for simultaneous handling of multiple sheets, designed for high-production environments.
