Recently, two electromagnetic lifting installations supplied by Felemamg for Russia have been successfully commissioned for the turning and handling of hot slabs.
Each of the installations consists of a fixed beam (not included in our supply) with two special electromagnets for handling and turning slabs at high temperatures (up to 600ºC) and weighing up to 40 tonnes, type FES-ES.

The construction of this type of magnet is extra-strong, designed to withstand the toughest conditions in large steelworks. Equipped with a double magnetic circuit, one main and one auxiliary, to allow the electromagnet to rotate on the part when it is turned over.
It is completed with state-of-the-art electrical power supply and control equipment, with a lead emergency battery system and constant current power supply to the electromagnets, allowing us to maintain the same level of force throughout all working hours.
In addition, it incorporates a continuous control system for all installation variables, allowing us to monitor surge levels, overcurrent, magnet temperature, etc. at all times, thereby guaranteeing the condition and availability of the entire installation at all times.
They are also designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions, with a minimum temperature of -40ºC.
